4 Labor Day Weekend Events that Won’t Break the Bank

aug 2.2As the summer season starts to wind down, you’ll want to make sure you partake in some of these great holiday weekend events before the cool weather sets in and you’re knee deep in school books. Here are few Labor Day Weekend events around the Denver area that you just can’t miss.

Labor Day Weekend Events

A Taste of Colorado

One might argue that this just might be Denver’s Signature Labor Day event. The event, which takes place at Civic Center Park, is free to get into and from there you choose how much you want to spend on food – or just enjoy the people watching! While most people do go for the food, there’s also live music, activities for kids and arts and crafts.

River North Art District

We hear about the Santa Fe Art District all the time, but did you know River North (or RiNo as the trendy people would say) has its’ own art district? Kick off Labor Day Weekend by exploring the River North Art District.

Colorado Rockies

What’s a holiday weekend without sports? The Rockies will be taking on the San Francisco Giants on Labor Day and the next couple of days after. Hop on the light rail and head to the ballpark. The best part is, no matter where you sit you will have quite the spectacular Colorado view!

Denver Broncos Health and Wellness Expo

This free, all-day event takes place at Sports Authority Field at Mile High Stadium. Just a few of the highlights include the opportunity to have your photograph with a Denver Bronco, play some sports activities, meet a few 9News Anchors and Reporters, listen to leading experts discuss the latest wellness topics, cooking demonstrations, check out some sports simulators, participate in on-field football drills, oh, and we’ll be there doing some health screenings. Maybe that’s way more than a few things to do when you’re there, but goes to show that it’s an event you just can’t miss! We hope to see you there!

Pokemon Go

Okay, this one isn’t just for Labor Day Weekend, but still. All the kids are doing it, so why not you too? Pokemon Go will get any couch potato out of the seat and out and about in their community. It’s a great way to explore cities and towns near you while catching Pokemon at the same time.
